You've seen the outside of the store (it's on the splash page and that's it to the right). We are located in the lower level of the historic Greer home. It was built in the late 1860s from native limestone by Judge Joseph Greer as a residence. Over the years it has been many things, anywhere from a grocer to a head shop to a pet store to (just before we moved in) a bead store. In fact, we still have people walking in expecting to find beads. And sometimes we do find them....in the brick floor.
As you can see, the shop has a delightful, rustic quality to it, especially with the rough stone walls, brick floor and the rough hewn wood beams. The unicorn mural was painted many years ago and fits our store well. The only problem is that we have no furnace. We just shiver in the winter.

South-east corner, showing one of two windows. Closer view of herbs on East wall.

Door on South-west corner. Medusa's masks are shown. North-west corner. You can just see the counter.

North wall behind counter showing some of our jewelry. North wall showing hand-crafted votive candles and some bumper stickers.

The final photo is of the flowering vine. As you can see on the outside of the store we have a vine growing on the iron fence, this photo does not do it justice (it was taken early in the growing season). This vine showed itself to be a delight for the downtown Topeka area in the heat of summer. The vine overtook the fence and part of the posts with a lushness that was all Mother Nature. We did nothing to enhance the vine, we just let it grow. We were delighted with this full vine, and delightful five-sided trumpet shaped flower. It's called a Cardinal Climber and I found the seeds at Wal-Mart (I have no vested interest in that company). It is a highly resiliant plant that will grow just about anywhere.
