James M Mosher
What can I tell you? What would you really like to know? Who am I?
Well, if you can't guess I'm a musician. That's
me on the right in a publicity photo taken when the Enchanted Willow was
featured in the Topeka newspaper (1994). Here I am shown with my 22-string
folk harp, "Shaelyn."
In 1983 I moved to Topeka and quickly found groups to play with. The
Topeka Symphony Orchestra first
had pity upon, me and now I am the English Horn soloist and second Oboe for
them (see the picture at the left). From there, the Topeka Woodwind Quintet
was formed and very soon after the Castle & Cross
Consort (Topeka's unique Early music ensemble). I can happily say that
both small groups are alive and doing well.
| The Consort plays at a number of events year-round. We appear at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival every year. Our weekends this year (2001) are Labor Day Weekend (September 1-3) and Columbus Day Weekend (October 13-15). Be sure to come see us there. We even have CDs available. The "Stoney Path" is comprised of Renaissance and some original music. In "A Circle of Seasons" we present music for the entire year, ranging from Renaissance to modern times (but not too modern). We are please to announce that this is a World Premiere recording for several pieces, including my own Fairy Danse. Contact Enchanted Willow for information. | ![]() ![]() |
I am
a Gay bear, if you couldn't guess, and have been in a committed relationship
with Bert since '83. My current mundane, full-time (pay the bills) job is
with the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library. Other interests include:
computers, needlework (you may occasionally see some of my work on these
pages), healing and herbology, aromatherapy, camping, Paganism and
naturism/nudism
(yes, that's me beside the van in the mask at Heartland). This was my first
real venture into mixed, social nudism....and it was great.
I am a practicing Pagan (ie Witch) who enjoys gathering many different
ideas from many different walks of life to combine and blend into a unique
whole. As the line goes from the old Bewitched television series, "I'm
a cauldron stirring, spell casting, broom riding witch." Although I must
admit that I haven't mastered the fine art of broom riding......yet. Originally
a solitary, I helped found MoonShadow Coven here in Topeka and am in the
Council of Elders.
My on-line Book of Shadows and
Light is now available. Stop by and take a peek, but be sure to come
back.
We have several "children," two cats (Pippin and Hera), two parakeets (Rama and Shiva) and a conure (Loki). Pippin is the old man of the crew. We first picked him up in 1984 as a little kitten. He is a schizophrenic cat and doesn't like anyone except for me (just ask our friends). Loki was a birthday present as a young hatchling and is going on 5 (the life expectancy of a conure is 75 years......anyone interested in inheriting him??). And Hera is the baby, born December 1997 she came to us under very special circumstances.
